IR Workshop / Alumni Resume Review

September 12, 2013

We hosted a pre-IR resume-building and interview preparation workshop, similar to last year’s event! But this year, a Project Manager from White Construction gave a presentation on how to build a strong resume, tips to ace your interview, as well as advice on balancing student life vs. professional life. The presentation was followed by a Q&A and personal resume critiques from several company representatives, who were also SASE alumni. This was a great event for all members, and especially helpful for our underclassmen members to get a head start on their job search one week before IR!

It was a great team building experience for engineering students to think outside of the boundaries of their major as well as a great opportunity to develop professional public speaking skills through presenting your team’s solution to the case in front of company representatives.

For the first time ever, SASE participated in Purdue’s Mr. Asia pageant and ended up taking home the crown! Congratulations to our very talented former president Robert Niimi on his accomplishments. He stole the show with a couple amazing musical performances (singing and guitar) and some quick thinking on his feet during the question and answer portion of the competition. He was featured on the front page of the Exponent!
