The Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers (SASE) is dedicated to the advancement of Asian heritage scientists and engineers in education and employment so that they can achieve their full career potential in their respective careers.
SASE prides itself on being one of the fastest growing organizations at Purdue University. Founded in the fall of 2010, SASE develops individuals to be globally diverse and teaches students to integrate the values of different cultures within American business, allowing them to create their own unique identity. The main focus of SASE is to provide students with the tools to excel academically and professionally via workshops and programs that hone soft skills valued at the workplace and leadership traits key to effectively running an organization.
SASE Purdue Chapter develops its members by covering 5 key areas:
Bridging Networks
Connecting students to sponsoring companies; creating an environment that encourages the formation of relationships and networks of the members within the society
Career Development
Offering career workshops to develop the soft skills required to be successful in landing jobs and at the workplace
Academic Preparation
Solidifying technical skills via mentorships, competitions, and academic workshops
Cultural Awareness
Providing cultural events to promote and celebrate diversity to prepare members for the global business world
Community Service
Offering opportunities to contribute to the local communities
